History

The history of forestry in the Minsk region of the pre-revolutionary period is the history of forestry in Belarus, since before the revolution it was part of Russia as a Minsk province.

Under Soviet rule, the history of forestry in the Minsk region actually began with the organization on December 27, 1918, of the Forest Subdivision as part of the Minsk Provincial Land Department.

After the formation of the BSSR (January 1, 1919), the functions of the provincial land department were transferred to the Commissariat of Agriculture. The first decree of the Forestry Commissariat of Agriculture was adopted on January 20, 1919.

During the recovery period 1921 -1930. on the territory of the Byelorussian SSR, legislative acts of the Russian Federation were enacted. The agrarian transformations carried out in the republic were enshrined in the Land Code adopted by the Central Executive Committee of the BSSR on March 29, 1923, and therefore the Forest Code of the BSSR, introduced on August 1, 1924, was considered as a "continuation" of the Land Code and secured state ownership of the entire forest fund, consisting of forests of national and local importance. It contained norms that established the procedure for forest management, conditions for transferring forests for temporary and permanent use, etc.

In 1936, under the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR, the Main Directorate of Forest Protection and Forest Plantations (Glavlesokhrana) was created, and the structure of the logging organizations of the People's Commissariat was changed - the Main Directorate of Forestry and Forestry was organized. The administration of the People's Commissariat for Agriculture was liquidated. In accordance with the Decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR of August 8, 1936, territorial departments of forest protection and forest plantations, including the Belarusian one, were created. This decree was the first act of separating forestry into an independent branch of the national economy.

In 1940, the Council of People's Commissars of the BSSR organized in Belarus 7 territorial departments of forest protection and afforestation in charge of the forests of the water protection zone: Baranovichi, Belostok, Minsk, Mogilev, Vitebsk, Polotsk and Pinsk.

In total, the Minsk Territorial Administration in 1940 included 12 forestry enterprises, 72 forestries with a total area of 718.6 thousand hectares.

In connection with the organization of the Ministry of Forestry and the transfer of forests to all other departments in the regions, instead of territorial departments of forest protection and afforestation, regional forestry departments were created (Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR dated April 4, 1947).

The modern composition of the Minsk regional forestry administration (now the State Forestry Administration) was mainly formed in 1960 after the reduction in 1954 of the Baranovichi and in 1960 the Molodechno regional forestry administrations in connection with the liquidation of the respective regions. Until that time, Volozhin, Myadel and Vileika forestry enterprises were part of the Molodechno, Stolbtsovsky - Baranovichi forestry departments.

Today, the Minsk State Production Forestry Association (hereinafter referred to as the Minsk State Forestry Enterprise), which was created on the basis of the order of the Ministry of Forestry of the Belarusian SSR dated May 30, 1988 No. 53 and the decree of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus and the Council of Ministers of the BSSR dated April 27, 1988 No. 112 "On improving management of forestry and timber industry of the republic ", manages the state forest resources in the territory of the Minsk region.

Minsk State Forestry Organization was registered by the Minsk City Executive Committee on August 23, 2007 in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs.

The forest fund under the jurisdiction of the Minsk State Forestry Organization is 1545.0 thousand hectares, including the forested area - 1379.7 thousand hectares.

The structure of the association includes 20 forestry institutions (forestry enterprises). There are 170 forestry departments, 589 forestry sites and 1,565 detours within the forestry enterprises. The association has more than 8 thousand people.
